    Description

Offered here is an unused RPPC showing the railroad depot in Brownville, Nebraska, one of the
oldest settlements in the state.  Unfortunately, though, the coming of the railroads brought
competition and default.  As historian Jim McKee has noted: "If ever there was a well-intentioned
yet star-crossed project, it was the Brownville, Fort Kearney & Pacific Railroad, which never
reached the Pacific or even Fort Kearny and barely got to Brownville."  The depot closed in 1951.
I ship with care to the UNITED STATES ONLY.  Card is in an acid-free sleeve and will be mailed in
    a hard sleeve for protection.
