Alfred Meakin, Staffodshire England, Tonquin Saucers/Oversized Soup Cup (3pcs)

Description

This is a listing for one (1) beautiful over sized/jumbo Soup/Coffee Cup and two (2) Saucers/Underplates designed by Alfred Meakin and produced in Staffordshire England in the brown “Tonquin” pattern. The cup stands approximately 3 1/8 inches tall and measures 6 1/8 inches in diameter.  The plates measure 8 5/8 inches in diameter. They are in excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks.  There is a small bubble in the glaze on one of the plates which appears to be a mfg flaw.   All of the pieces have a shield maker mark and say “Tonquin Alfred Meakin Staffordshire England”  Hand Engraved Pattern Applied Under the Glaze Detergent Proof " on the bottom.  These are wonderful additions to your collection.
